Petrol – Primadiesel

I added the Petrol – primadiesel commercial to ‘portfolio’ section. The goal was to build cars covered with flowers. Since there were a wide range of shots with cars there were 5 CG car chassis build each covered with 2 level of detail flowers and for one shot another extra detail level. The flower placement was calculated using particles and then manually fixing odd spots. After that each car was transformed into 3 pieces of flower polymeshes since it was easier to handle a few meshes than thousands of particles... Read The Rest →

Reorder attributes and raMelFunctions

I added two MEL scripts to ‘downloads’ section: The first one is ‘Reorder attributes’ which allows to reorder custom attributes in the channel box. The second one is ‘raMelFunctions’ which for now only has one script but will be filled later with other functions that you can use from command line. But most importantly other scripts use it (like Reorder attributes) to work properly so you need to install those too if you plan to use the scripts that are dependant on them. Share → Tweet

Radenska – oasis

I added another commercial under ‘portfolio’ section. This time I was working as an effects technical director creating sand effects. Click on the image below to see the commercial or check the ‘CG Work’ section. Share → Tweet

Mite

Another commercial added to ‘portfolio’ section on which I worked as a character TD. All the detail controls were added to the front of the character since it was standing still and only simple ik controls were used for the legs. For the arms FK was used. To help magnification of the eye effect a blendshape was created which was rendered separately for the magnifying glass pass. Share → Tweet

I have just updated raKeyPressed command plugin. If you had problems loading it in Maya, please try again with new version. I also included the source code if you want to use it on Linux or OSX. Share → Tweet

raKeyPressed command plugin

There’s a new command plugin for Maya under the ‘downloads’ section that tracks which of special keys are currently pressed (esc, shift, ctrl, alt). It is useful for MEL scripters to break a loop for instance whenever ‘esc’ key is pressed. Currently only works on Windows for Maya 7. Share → Tweet

New site

I’ve created a blog instead of the old news section. The reason is that I usually don’t update the page so much. With blog and rss feed you can just subscribe to be notified if for instance any new tool has been added to this page or you are just weirdly interested into my ramblings that will be published from time to time… Share → Tweet
